Energy Innovation in Armenia: EMIS Workshop
Last week, experts and stakeholders from government agencies, private companies, and the energy sector came together to explore the digitalization of energy management across Armenia through the Energy Management Information System (EMIS).
This advanced tool helps track and analyze energy consumption, maintain building energy profiles, support smart budgeting, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions—all critical for sustainable growth and evidence-based decision making.
EMIS is already helping Yerevan to optimize resource management, pinpoint inefficiencies, and implement sustainable solutions.
From building owners and energy auditors to policy and decision-makers and private sector stakeholders, EMIS fosters collaboration and paves the way for smarter energy use.
Participants expressed strong interest in the system’s analytical potential and modelling capabilities. Although monthly updates are currently the standard, discussions are underway to enhance real-time integration in the future.
With EMIS, Armenia is taking a bold step towards smarter, greener, and more efficient energy management.
